Resettlement Action Plan (RAP)

The Mpatamanga Hydro Power Project (MHPP) has developed a Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) that will be used to guide the future development of phased Resettlement and Livelihood Restoration Action Plans (RLRAPs) for the Project. This includes a Guide to Land Acquisition and Compensation (GLAC). Both RPF and GLAC documents are published on this page. Note that the English language version of the GLAC is an annex to the RPF. The Chichewa language version of the GLAC is a ‘standalone’ document. Please provide any feedback on the RPF to the following email address: [email protected]

In late January 2025, asset inventory and socio-economic surveys mobilised to support land acquisition for two resettlement site locations in Blantyre District. In March/April 2025, it is expected that the RLRAP for this phase of Project development will be published on this page.

Presentations prepared to support RPF consultation and disclosure meetings held during mid-late September 2024 are saved on this page under the RPF Disclosure Communications Materials heading.

Prior to this, an update on the Project’s land acquisition and resettlement approach and timing was included in the July 2024 ESIA Disclosure presentation saved here.
